Welcome to 2008. As you can see, I’ve gotten this little site set up to be the documentation of my attempt to accomplish my New Year’s Resolutions. I’m still getting content ready for this site, so let’s start simple.
To start, I’ve posted what my resolutions are – they’re on their own page that you can easily see at the top of the page. Go check em out if you don’t know what they are yet.
What I haven’t really posted is how I’m going to go about getting these things done or what things are like NOW that I require actual resolutions to accomplish everything. Well, I am sort of (inwardly cringing) considering posting a vlog about that and show exactly what I’m up against. We’ll see how brave I am over the next week or so (also, we’ll see how video-edity skilled I am… that is one hurdle no amount of braveness can overcome).
To give the accounting here and now of how much I weigh, what my debt is and how messy my house is, here goes:
- I am FAAAAAAATTTTTTT!!!!!! Still nervous to post a number, but let’s say that I weigh over 275lbs. Eeeps.
- My house is a cluttery mess. You’re just going to have to trust me on this, because I don’t have any video to prove it. I could take pictures, but that’s not quite as revealing as vid.
- TPO and I currently have about $8500 in credit card debt. I’m not 100% sure about the exact amount, but once I get this month’s statement, I’ll be able to give a better accounting.
As the week progresses, I’ll post my plans on how I’m going to accomplish these things (and, of course, give reports on this week’s progress). For now, Happy 2008!!! And good luck with your own goals for this year.
Good luck to you with your goals.
You might try reading The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. It is very helpful in debt elimination.
Dear theFROG:
OMG — Girl, we are so on the same page! I have weight issues, clutter issues, and GD debt issues, too. F me! Oh, and by the way, I hate my FN job and want to get out pronto. Worst case scenario, I’m going to hang there until September to make some bank and get my shit together. Blah, 2008 is a rebuilding year; Lawd help us all.
Anyhow, I am going to start following this blog, as I do your other one because you are so tuff.
Happy New Year!
Grape and Most…
Thanks for the well wishes – I do need them. I’ve read that book already and am using many of the principles from it (and other debt/money managing books available). As time goes on, I’ll be detailing the money aspect much more thoroughly.
grape: Hope your job woes get resolved soon. I can’t stand my job (which you probably know already if you follow the other blog) and am trying my damnedest to get out of it. Here’s to BOTH of us getting a new job that we don’t hate this year.
