The things I will be accomplishing in 2008:
- Lose at least 52 lbs: According to lots of fun scientific research and nutrition experts, a healthy weight loss is 1% of your body weight per week (which, for most people is about 1-2 lbs/week). I could healthily lose 2-3 lbs/week, but I don’t want to start out by sabotaging myself by putting up a pie-in-the-sky goal. To keep things simple, I will consider a 1 lb per week weight loss a success and anything above that is just bonus points.
- Completely organize, clean and de-clutter my house from top to bottom. Oh yeah, and then, I want to MAINTAIN it. So far, every time I manage to clean, declutter and organize things, I just end up cluttering, disorganizing and messing it up all over again. Well, not anymore… this time, I’m all about setting up a maintenance schedule.
- Wipe out all debt by the end of the year and begin socking away money into a savings account for a down payment on a house. I don’t want to live in Military housing forever… and, well – in less than 5 years, that’s sort of going to be a moot point.
That’s really all that I want to accomplish – sure, there are other things I want to do, but these three areas are the ones that I want to focus on the MOST (and they’re the ones that are the most pressing). I’ll be posting about each of these resolutions as well as re-evaluating them (and how I’m going about attaining each one) as time goes on.
